Congress to contest all seats in TN elections?

With DMK pulling out of UPA in Tamilnadu and Vijaykanth with AIADMK the only option for Congress is to contest alone .

How many seats Congress will win in Tamil Nadu, 2011 elections?

Any guess. If it goes alone .. it will be the end of Congress in Tamil Nadu. Well done Rahul Baba. Congress is going to be in Single digit.

BJP's decision to contest all seats in TN is a foolish one

DMK has pulled out of the Congress alliance. It might contest close to 175 seats. AIADMK will contest close to 140 seats

going by the strength of these parties and the confusion among voters none of these parties are going to win a outright majority. In that case any party with 10-15 seats will be the Kingmaker. That is what Vijaykant's DMDK is aiming at.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gaining good momentum in Tamil Nadu. The current yatra by Mr Radhakrishnan evoked good response. But contesting all 234 seats will be a futile effort. Instead it should limit to 50 seats - one per LS constituency and four or five in Kanyakumari and Coimbatore.

A focussed campaign in limited number of seats will fetch more seats for BJP. Hmmm

Tamilnadu has always witnessed elections between DMK and ADMK for the past decades. People are bored to see Kalaignar (Mr Karunanidhi) pitting against Amma (Ms Jayalalithaa). Why not Kanimozhi vs Jayalalithaa ?

Probably if there is a nation which is so patient that it allows a dynasty to rule for more than six decades it is India. Nehru family has misruled the nation from Independence and still the public is patient, afraid and confused to elect a different regime. Perhaps the Congress, which should think of a leadership change has imported leader from Italy - Smt Sonia Gandhi to head the party! Strange but true. Long live Congress! Long Live India!

Why AIADMK and Jayalalitha should stay away from Congress

There are many reasons for AIADMK to go with Congress in the coming TamilNadu elections. AIADMK and Congress were natural allies during MGR rule. Congress had a good support among the same people who worshipped MGR. But now things have changed.

These are things Jayalalithaa should ponder before forming an alliance with Congress.

1. Congress's vote base has reduced from 24% to 15% (and in some areas below 7%)
2. No leaders in Congress has credibility in the state
3. General public is angry against both Central and State government

4. Sonia, Rahul and co losing their popular support .. they will not get votes (seen in Gujarat, Jharkannd and now WB elections)
5. Congress will be the gainer with AIADMK losing seats


also the entire nation which stood by Jayalalithaa for her brave remarks against Sonia will take her as opportunistic if she forms an alliance with Congress.

Jayalalithaa can either go with DMDK (Vijayakanth) or BJP or both

That will be good for her, her party, the state and the nation
