IT industry gives a thumbs down on Congress IT Vision document

IT industry was less optimistic on the Congress IT Vision document (released as part of its manifesto), which it feels lacks the basic - creation of employment and impetus towards innovation.

If you compare it to what BJP's 360 degree vision on India's IT infrastructure, there is nothing much in the Congress document to talk about, said an industry expert on the condition of anonymity.

In last five years Congress couldn't encourage the Indian IT industry to set-up R&D centers and develop products. This was way behind the idea of creating a product company like Google/Microsoft in India as envisaged by Shri Narendra Modi in the bengaluru IT conclave.

The congress IT vision, however, looks better than the so-called Third Front / UNPA's vision.
